harlem globetrotters

lazy sunday afternoon. had a nice home-cooked lunch, watched some tv, tried to take a nap.

k was working. good, i have some peace and quiet. but not for long.

k: BAAAAAAAAAABE!!!!!!!!!!!!

r: huh? (i was asleep!)

k: bihis ka, may lakad tayo daliiii!!!!

r: huh?! san?

k: basta. bihis ka na. (k was doing his happy-happy joy-joy dance) excited ako! excited ako!

r: i refuse to wake up! san nga?? sino kasama??

k: aaaahhh... sa manhattan garden city. may one night reunion concert ang southborder (his favorite band). kakanta si luke. sasama sina i and m. halika naaaaaa!!!

i practically dragged myself out of bed. medyo mainit pa ulo ko. pero walang choice, kailangang sumama. haaay.

we parked at gateway. saw i and m with their super cute son bacci. aba, may kasamang bata. southborder ba talaga lakad namin??

m: sayang noh, patron seats sana tayo. lower box na lang daw tickets natin.

hmmmm. parang alam ko na kung san kami pupunta.

a week ago, k saw the advertisement for this show. he wanted to go. i said yes, since his eyes were all lit up while convincing me. so cute. :) but tickets were steep for the sat night show. maybe next time.

and then this happened. turns out mitch, m's cousin, had several tickets for the show. nadamay si k. nadamay na rin ako. gow! :)

the show was fun, these guys know their stuff. one can shoot from the patron area, several can dunk the ball, hang upside down from the ring, dance around, throw jokes, etc. one time a kid was picked out from the audience and big easy (?) turned him upside down and shook him silly, as if looking for something. wala na kaming ginawa kung di tumawa all throughout the 2 hour show. :)

the bigger mascot, globie, was so funny! he was walking upside down (head first!), spinning around on his side, etc. nakakatawa yung taong nasa loob nun, kasi pwede syang umikot at pagbali-baliktarin ang suot nya. hilarious!

here we asking asking for autographs from the team:

the trotters won against the generals (they haven't been beaten for 30 years now haha!), score here:

overall, it was a fun evening. happy k = happy me. :)

an affair with bridal fairs :)

yes, i'm guilty. just like any bride-to-be, i feel a compulsion to go to every bridal fair being organized in the metro. heck, i even wanted to go to a tagaytay one, good thing my common sense kicked in. it also helps that k is very supportive in driving me and actually participating in the events! :)

but isn't it fun going to these fairs? i like meeting co-w@wies (so i can put a face to those egroups sisters who sends thousands of emails everyday!), tasting free food, listening to bands/strings groups perform, browsing through wonderful wedding photo albums, and my hands-down favorite, having photos taken at the photobooths!

these were taken during a bridal fair at SMX last weekend. me and k had a blast! we were able book our photo and video supplier too. :)

i actually asked k, "can we continue going to these fairs even after we're married, if only for the photobooths??" :D

sis gie from my w@w family sent me this. i love it! THANK YOU, SIS! :)

moving out

my landlord is kicking me out the condo ASAP, as he has sold it and the buyer wants to move in na. boo! :(

i'm so stressed! we have to look for another available unit (checked out 3 units so far), haggle the rent (ikakasal ho kami, maawa na kayo), do the logistics (the landlord will take care of this, thank God!), packing up everything (just thinking about it gives me headaches!), etc. arghhhh! wish us luck!

our 6th

made dinner reservations that night but k had to attend to an office dinner. hmph. OK lang, i'm not the it's-our-anniversary-and-we-need-to-celebrate type. really. :)

he was to drop by na lang, and kept calling me from time to time. "what do you want to eat? i'll grab you something on the way home." "want dessert? a cake perhaps?" i said no, we're on a diet di ba??

when he got to my place, here's what he surprised me with:

he had a long day, was tired and sleepy. thanks, baber. happy 6th! :)

i got the blues

look what i found:

love the flowers:

and if i can find my kind of shoes (love the louboutin):

happy birthday, SG!

We will miss you, Uncle Ben

Another one of my dad's older brothers, Uncle Ben, passed away last night at their family home in Pasig.

I feel for their family, they are my closest aunt and cousins from my father's side.

Life is too damn short.

Things My Mother Taught Me

just to share a few laughs. :)

*My mother taught me TO APPRECIATE A JOB WELL DONE-"If you're going to kill each other do it outside-I just finished cleaning."

*My mother taught me RELIGION-"You better pray that will come out of the carpet."

*My mother taught me TIME TRAVEL-"If you don't straighten up, I'm going to kick you into the middle of next week."

*My mother taught me LOGIC-"Because I said so, that's why."

*My mother taught me FORESIGHT-"Make sure you wear clean underwear, in case you're in an accident."

*My mother taught me IRONY-"Keep laughing and I'll *give* you something to cry about."

*My mother taught me OSMOSIS-"Shut your mouth and eat your supper."

*My mother taught me about CONTORTIONISM- "Will you look at the dirt on the back on your neck!"

*My mother taught me STAMINA-"You' ll sit there till all that spinach is finished."

*My mother taught me about WEATHER-"It looks as if a tornado swept through your room."

*My mother taught me how to solve PHYSICS PROBLEMS-"If I yelled because I saw a meteor coming towards you; would you then listen."

*My mother taught me about HYPOCRISY-"If I've told you once I've told you a million times-Don't Exaggerate!! !"

*My mother taught me THE CIRCLE OF LIFE-" I brought you into this world, and I can take you out."

*My mother taught me about BEHAVIOUR MODIFICATION- "Stop acting like your father."

*My mother taught me about ENVY-"There are millions of less fortunate children in this world who don't have wonderful parents like you do."

(shared by a co-w@wie)

seriously now, my own mother taught me a lot of things. hard work, patience, loyalty, discipline, unconditional love. next to our salvation, she is God's greatest gift to me. i miss her a lot. I LOVE YOU, MAMA! HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY! :)

pacquiao knocks out hatton in round 2!

i woke up at 6am on 3 may so we could get good seats at off the grill in timog for the live broadcast of manny's fight against ricky hatton. arrived there at 7am, all seats in front of the screens were taken na (just like last year). boo! but we got good enough seats, same as last year rin hehe

k and i were both nervous for manny. we saw how hatton moved inside the ring, mabilis na madaya pa. madaya (for me ha) because iniipit nya yung kalaban and does body punches. manny fights clean e. also, they're really a match in terms of weight, height, reach, etc. and we kinda concluded that if manny doesn't finish hatton off by the 3rd round, it will be a draw until the 12th round. in short, bugbugan to the max.

so glad it was over agad haha! bravo pacquiao! thank you for making us truly proud!

funny yung cheer ng pinoys in LA, to the tune of london bridge:

ricky hatton falling down, falling down, falling down :) fall, he did!

go pacquiao!

the philippine people love manny. me included (of course!). seeing him on tv, dedicating his fights to his country and fighting his heart out makes me feel so proud to be filipino. we are hoping and praying that he wins tomorrow's fight against brit ricky hatton.

GO TEAM PACQUIAO!
