damn you, auto correct!

a friend sent me the link to this site and the entries were so funny!

If you have a mobile device you know how annoying the Auto Correct feature can be.It changes words without rhyme or reason, and if you’re chatting with someone and hit “send” too quickly, it can really lead to some funny results.

my iphone sometimes puts me in awkward and embarrasing moments (mostly wrong spelling) but not as bad as these!

xanadu

yesterday, the survivors (minus SSi) went to watch xanadu at the RCBC plaza.

we met at the rockwell plant for lunch at the kulinarya kitchen. no food photos taken, since we devoured everything that touched our table - salad, pasta, pizza, bread. we were hungry.

then off to rcbc plaza. we were early so we had time for coffee.

xanadu, the whimsical and comic musical, focuses on the greek muse, clio, who descends from mt. olympus to venice beach, california in 1980 on a quest to inspire a struggling artist, sonny malone, to achieve the greatest creation of his life - a roller disco. But when clio, disguised as an australian (the accent was confusing, as rachel had another character, tangerine, the girl from alabama heehee) roller girl named kira (pronounced keeeeerrraa with an exaggerated australian accent, falls into forbidden love with the mortal sonny, her jealous sisters take advantage of the situation, and clio risks eternal banishment to the underworld.

the musical featured songs made popular by olivia newton-john in the film of the same title, including MAGIC, SUDDENLY, SUSPENDED IN TIME, HAVE YOU EVER BEEN MELLOW, and the hit title track, XANADU.

directed by bobby garcia, rachel alejandro was clio/kira

felix rivera was sonny malone

they were hilarious! we also saw them in avenue q earlier this year, galing!

the rest of the cast also included clio's sisters (4 real girls, 2 lady-boys) who were really funny. one of two evil women was chari arespacochaga.

and noel trinidad as the groovy danny maguire, the old man who owned the theater where sonny wanted to build his roller disco, and he was zeus as well.

we exited the theater with a big smile on our faces (did i mention that we were upgraded to better seats since there were a lot of empty seats on the first level heehee), and who do we bump into? rachel and felix! (photos to follow, need to get them from DSK/SG)

we then went to charlie's for dinner (burpppp!) and CAB cafe next door for some coffee.

why so serious, you wonder? DSK was playing angry birds on his iphone 4!

well, we'll be headed to the frazzled cook in a few days so that's another foodie post! :)

mini-MBA lunch

about 3 weeks back, we had a despedida lunch for classmate ate malu who retired from the bank.

it's been sometime since we got together and it was fun, fun, fun! my MBA class is a fun bunch, and we all suddenly reminisced the good times we had when we were still completing the program.

i love MBA 6! :)

my first bazaar

sa umaga, despatchadora...

for 2 days last weekend, i was a sales girl. together with my friends jo and aileen, we joined a long weekend bazaar at valle verde 2 and tested our marketing and selling skills. and my oh my, it was H-A-R-D! sa dami ng taong lumalapit at nagtatanong on each and every item e ang hirap pala makipagtawaran! uminit na't umulan, we were there for 2 whole days - at nakatayo most of the time. i badly neded a massage after!

but all in all, we had a great time practicing our entrepreneurial skills! not to mention very happy pockets haha! we're all looking forward to joining the next one.

p.s. next to our stall was a ramble scramble food cart, whose scramble was selling like hotcakes! now i want a scramble business!
