the crib diaries

after taking down and folding up the the playpen with bassinet more than a month ago, we have decided to put up the crib so kirsten can try sleeping on her own. you see, she has been sleeping in our bed since she was 2 months old.



this was the first night that the crib was up. she didn't have any objections and gladly took the space. she likes sliding her palm (face up) on soft surfaces (just like i do!) heehee



i prepared all the beddings and removed her things from our bed, telling myself that she should start sleeping in her crib that night so we can start a routine and that she won't have separation anxiety in the future. at 6 months, she is ready, isn't she?



well, it turns out that the mom wasn't ready haha! when i turned off the lights, she started whimpering so i picked her up and told kit we can try again that weekend. maybe i just imagined her whimpering because i realized i can't sleep without her by my side!



and to date, i've never had her sleep the whole night inside the crib. she sleeps there during the day time, and at times when i get home pretty late and she's sleeping there, i'd pick her up and put her on our bed. after all, she has plenty of time to sleep on her own in the future. for now, she sleeps with daddy and me. :)
