a foodie's wish come true: manda centrale

how can one stay on a diet when this foodie haven opens literally at your doorstep???

manda centrale is another night food market (organized by the same geniuses behind mercato centrale in taguig where i've never been because it's too far away for me heehee) which sprouted where the former sidcor (?) market was before. the location is actually a parking area where we would park while doing the weekly palengke trip near crossing (which is now gone also, by the way. i heard shopwise will replace it, but no confirmation yet).there are also new food establishments in greenfield but will save that for another post!
back to manda centrale. the first night they opened, it was raining. the night my sister and i decided to check it out, umulan din. we hate wet puddles but that never stopped us haha!
except for the wet cement floor, everything about this place beckons - the tent was well built and brightly lit, there were a lot of vendors offering free taste of their mouthwatering products, sales people were polite and pleasing (i hate pushy tinderas, sorry!), loud music was playing (there was a stage for performers i guess but it was empty as we got there early), and there were tables and chairs available for sit-down diners.
there were a lot of food stuff available, from burgers to pizzas, shawarma to turkey and roast beef, cakes and cupcakes, gelato, and many more!
my favorite one was the crunchy pork belly by carlo's kitchen (i took home some for k as i'm sure he will love it, and he sure did!)

panchados offered mechado (yes, as in the ulam) in a bread bowl topped w/ grated queso de bola

TGI fredy's

this was simply heart stopping. literally.

chicago pizza

sumoyaki takoyaki (i have never tried takoyaki)

skew grill and big bob's charcoal grilled burgers

 chef resty

lu chi authentic dimsum house

chef anton

i got my shawarma fix here

cakes by K (would love to try these next time!!)

johnny steams

my cupcakes taste better than these though

mio gelati

for the health conscious, a juice bar

i would love to try this next time. auntie may's has take out frozen packs!

you can check the complete food vendor list here on anton's blog.
this is the empty stage we saw. looks promising huh?
k has been bugging me to take him there last week (the all saint's day holiday weekend) and he was crushed when i told them they were closed. ;) i will definitely bring him there this week!
but honestly, all these food establishments around our neighborhood are wrecking havoc on our diets!!! i'm not saying we're sad about it though! will just have to try our darndest to eat in moderation, choose healthier options, and try to workout everyday instead of whenever-i-want-to. :)
