meet the parents

i'm glad they've met. :)

well, i have been attending k's family gatherings for sometime now, and have met with his parents and 3 sisters. they're a lovely bunch. now, it was time for my dad to meet them. :)

dad is in manila for 2 weeks (we're going on a vacation spree to cebu/bohol/singapore. will write a separate post on this), and k arranged this dinner. we don't have the traditional pamamanhikan so this will do. :D

it felt like old times. being ilonggos, our parents started speaking the dialect and were at ease with each other right away! my dad had somehow met k's mom sometime ago, but couldn't remember her face. he says k's dad's face also looked familiar. small world talaga! :)

it was a buffet spread, so we enjoyed the food a lot! when the wedding subject came up, both sides agreed that we were of age na daw. duh! tigulang na gid kami ya?? :) they gave us their blessings, and k's dad shook my dad's hand while saying, "hai balae na itawag ko sa imo." :)

k and i are thankful for the support of our parents. i just wish my mama was here so she could join all the fun, too! :)
