here's sharing the most recent song i've been singing to our little lady bug. last night, while i was singing to her in bed, she looked at me and mumbled along until she fell asleep! aaawwww. :)

at 5 months, kirsten loves to grab her toys. and put them near her mouth. and lick them. with gusto.



and that's why i love her play gym - no matter how hard she tugs at them, the toys don't reach her mouth.

kirsten's 5th month

as i probably mentioned in one of my previous posts, kirsten was going to have themes for her monthly birthdays. for her fifth, we had an angry birds theme.

the cupcakes (they're not as nice as i imagined them to be, and tasted like the ones i make! oh well. will make up for the next monthlies, sweetheart!)

monthly vaccination - january 2012

here we are again at the office clinic for her monthly vaccination. we chanced upon kuch at the lobby, we were late for our appointment as usual heehee



she had a double injection (both thighs!), DPT and and HiB.



she cried at the prick but after that, she was fine and started reaching for the boxes beside her!





still a little pissed though haha! with the good doctor who did one of the injections.

my loot from the baby company grand baby fair

veni, vidi, vici. i came, i saw, i conquered.

during our lunch break today, my colleague and i went to nearby megamall to check out baby company's grand baby fair. it was its first day, and boy there were lots of mommies, daddies and mommies-to-be shopping for their babies! i will try to get photos later when i go back to get my swag bag. *UPDATED*









i'm sharing what i got.



the chaos at the payment counters:







i split my purchases into 2 so i can get 2 swag bags (one is entitled to a swag bag for a minimum purchase of php2,000) but wasn't able to claim the other one as i was told their policy is one bag/person only. here are it's contents:



while i was at the counter, i was told i won something (they have this random freebie promo, a staff rings a bell and the person at the counter wins i guess!) and it turned out to be a bag of tiny buds products (i love their rice baby powder!):)



al in all, it was definitely sulit to go there and buy the stuff you need. i say NEED because seeing all those discounted baby products can make you want to hoard everything into your shopping cart. i actually know what i wanted to buy and i found them there! here are the items i loved the most:

UPDATE: i went back to get my other swag bag and applied for a mom card that night. then i went around a bit, even listened in on a talk about touch therapy (infant massage) at the johnson and johnson's booth. suffice to say, i got another swag bag (my third!) haha! to justify my purchase, i have to tell you that i bought another set of tushy wushies (already php1,000), 2 pairs of buy-one-take-one pillows (php980) and my colleague asked me to buy the orange-scented teether and silicon toothbrush from simba. see? :)

poco deli serves good sausages, pasta, deli sandwiches, wine, and dave's naturals premium yogurt.





that night k ordered the kielbasa sausage with bacon rice; i had the prosciutto with melted mozzarella. both good and comforting meals. we also ordered a sausage and cheese plate - sausage was good, the cheese was OK but serving was too little.





we ordered their carrot cake for dessert:


this was actually our second time to eat here. we had pizza, pasta and their bacon steak with eggs (i'm not sure about the name but the staff say this is their bestseller) which was a huge slab of bacon, 90% fat haha! i'll never let k order it again. :D

good eats! we will definitely be back! :)

turned over, finally!

just before the christmas break, we finally got the keys to our condo in ortigas. sweet! :)

we may not get to stay there though as it is too small for our growing family. so if you're looking for a place to rent in the ortigas area, a minute's walk to robinson's galleria, give me a holler!

i never knew katsu like this before.



soft and tender, crunchy, yum-o! it melts in your mouth!



and the sauce - ground up sesame seeds mixed with their thick soy sauce. heaven!



i also love their unlimited cabbage salad with a choice of the vinaigrette or creamy , japanese mayo dressing.

if you're hankering for good katsu, head to yabu. they're at the second floor of megamall atrium.

just thinking about it makes me wanna go there now na! :)
