our christmas trip back home part 1

we took kirsten on her first trip back to our provinces (roxas city for me, iloilo city for k) last december 2011. and boy, what a trip it was!

it was also her first plane ride, and i was not so worried about her getting cranky and all. she did cry a little because she was hungry, and slept during feeding. this was just after we took off, so she was asleep most of the flight.



first stop was iloilo. our flight was delayed for about an hour (cebu pacific almost always is) so we arrived early evening and headed staright to smallville 21 hotel. we met up and had dinner with her lola gail, ninang zsazsa, and our ninang aida (zsazsa's mom).



just before she turned four months, kirsten regularly goes to bed early (around 8pm) so i had to retire to the room right after dinner. we had an early night and slept really well! the next morning, we wanted batchoy of course and headed to the nearest ted's old timer batchoy branch (a few minute's walk from the hotel).







afterwhich we went back to the hotel to catch a few more zzzs. here's kc enjoying the big bed all to herself while dad slept in the smaller bed heehee



we checked out after a photo op and had lunch first at cafe laguna in sm city before our ride to roxas came to pick us up.





next stop - roxas! it felt so good to get home and see my dad.





my main objective, aside from spending christmas in roxas, is to bring kc to my favorite aunt (my dad's sister). she is in her 80s and cannot hear very well now. i wanted her to see kc as soon as possible!



of course, we cannot miss going to baybay and having our fill of the freshest seafoods! roxas city is not the seafood capital of the philippines for nothing!



back at home, we prepared the christmas spread and here is our noche buena. my sister lory handcarried the carrot cake (kraze kitch) and chocolate crinkles (adb) from manila heehee yum-o!



and the clock struck 12 (though our camera time stamp is a bit late haha)! kc was sleeping so i had to wake her up. i knew she'd be happy not for long haha! merry christmas, everyone! :)

we had lots of pressies! can you see that kc likes opening them? she was kinda crying before i began opening the gifts!











the weather was stormy in roxas so we didn't get to go out a lot. we enjoyed the fresh air and mostly stayed at the terrace. kc loved looking at the swaying trees and feeling the wind in her face! :)





we went to iloilo again to see k's relatives. that story in part 2! :)
